Modern Slavery Statement

Teacher Direct is committed to preventing and combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We recognise the importance of taking proactive measures to identify, prevent, and address any risks associated with modern slavery within our operations and supply chains. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines our commitment and actions in this regard:

  1. Policy Commitment:
    • We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to upholding and promoting fundamental human rights and ethical standards throughout our organisation and supply chains in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  2. Supply Chain Due Diligence:
    • We conduct thorough due diligence when selecting and engaging with suppliers, ensuring they share our commitment to eradicating modern slavery. We seek to establish long-term partnerships with suppliers who adhere to applicable laws and regulations regarding slavery and human trafficking.
  3. Supplier Compliance:
    • We expect our suppliers to comply with all relevant legislation, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We include specific contractual provisions requiring suppliers to uphold human rights, adhere to ethical business practices, and prohibit the use of forced labor or any form of modern slavery.
  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • We regularly assess the potential risks of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains. Through risk assessments, we identify high-risk areas and take appropriate measures to mitigate those risks. This includes monitoring supplier practices and conducting audits when necessary.
  5. Employee Awareness and Training:
    • We provide comprehensive training to our employees to raise awareness about modern slavery and human trafficking, in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This training equips them with the knowledge and tools to identify and report any suspicious activities or signs of potential modern slavery.
  6. Reporting Mechanisms:
    • We maintain robust reporting mechanisms to encourage the reporting of any concerns related to modern slavery. Employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicions or instances of modern slavery through designated channels, in accordance with the Whistleblowing Act 1998. We treat all reports confidentially and investigate them promptly and thoroughly. You can report any concerns to us directly at info@teache-direct.co.uk
  7. Collaboration and Engagement:
    • We actively collaborate with relevant stakeholders, industry bodies, and organisations to share best practices, knowledge, and resources in the fight against modern slavery. We engage in dialogue and partnerships aimed at improving transparency and eradicating modern slavery from our supply chains, in line with the Transparency in Supply Chains Provision of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  8. Continuous Improvement:
    • We are committed to continuous improvement in our efforts to combat modern slavery. We review our policies, procedures, and practices regularly to ensure their effectiveness and relevance. We strive to enhance our due diligence processes, strengthen supplier relationships, and identify emerging risks, in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

This Modern Slavery Statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and has been approved by our senior management. We will regularly review and update this statement to reflect our ongoing commitment to combatting modern slavery and comply with relevant UK legislation.
